The World is Outside by Dan Axtell

If you are going to follow Jesus, you need to become a student of the way He lived. Have you ever
stopped and thought about how many of the stories in the gospels happened inside a building? Very
few. Most of what Jesus did happened outside, in the community. That’s where the good fishing is.
In Matthew 4:18-20 we read that, “Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, casting a net
into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then he said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of
men.” If you respond to Jesus call, you will find that following Him leads you to the least, the lost and
the lame. You will need to be careful that you don’t sit indoors when the world outside is hurting. Paul
Harvey once said, “We have drifted away from being fishers of men to being keepers of the aquarium.”
