Fall 2015 Church Chaplaincy Academy 13
September 2, 2015 @ 8:00 am - October 21, 2015 @ 5:00 pm
Registration is now open for the Fall 2015 Church Chaplaincy Academy 13. In past Academies, eighty-eight (88) area churches have joined to train well over 700 Volunteer Compassion Team Chaplains for their own churches as Crisis First Responders.
The demands on a church pastor’s time are many. In caring for the needs of your church family, as well as the needs of your own family, at times it can seem that there are just not enough hours in the day.
In our own church, we have received much needed reinforcement in our Pastoral Care Department through commissioning trained Volunteer Compassion Team Chaplains into service as Crisis First Responders. This volunteer team of dedicated and expertly trained men and women have availed themselves to members of our church family in times of crisis and ministered in hospital and emergency rooms, homes, at funerals, memorials and anywhere there is a need. The impact on our church has been profound. From the day they were released into ministry in May of 2010, we continue to ask ourselves, “What did we ever do without them?”
The cost of the Academy is only $75 per person and includes all materials and lecture notes, 8 weeks of Intensive training from 6-10pm on Wednesday evenings, Sept. 2 – Oct. 21 with a Graduation Ceremony Oct. 28th, culminating in two weeks of Church Specific Training in their home church. The Academy classes and Graduation Ceremony will be held at Western Seminary 290 Technology Way #200, Rocklin, CA 95765.
I have attached a copy of the Fall 2015 Church Chaplaincy Academy 13 Training Schedule for your convenience. The training is lead by Senior Chaplain Mark O’Sullivan and professionals at the top of their fields including the County Coroner, and in numerous subject areas such as Victim Assistance, Emergency Response, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, Mandated Reporting, Bereavement, Death and Dying.
Academy Graduates would only be commissioned as Chaplains through their home church (not through Educational Ministries). And those commissionings would only remain active while that Chaplain serves within your church.
If you have any questions, or would like to register any members of your Church or Staff for training, please email Sr. Chaplain & Program Developer Mark O’Sullivan at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call him at 916-343-3299. You may mail your registration checks (made out to “Educational Ministries” in the amount of $75 per person), to Educational Ministries, P.O. Box 2738, Rocklin, CA 95677. Please also include the registrant’s first and last name, address, phone number, email and name of church, church address and phone number, as well as the name of their Senior Pastor or Senior Leader.
With great appreciation and respect,
